Royal Pirates Covers Ailee’s Heaven

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen them… and I mean a really long time! I was wondering when they’d be back with another cover!! I am talking about Royal Pirates!

They recently uploaded to their youtube channel a cover of Ailee‘s Heaven.

So who are they?? If you started your Kpop fandom sometime around 2009 you might recognize them as the group that covered Nobody and Sorry Sorry. These covers became quite popular at that time. I especially liked the Sorry Sorry cover at that time. (Sorry I can’t post the videos because their channel has marked it private :()

But now they’ve come back and they even added a bass section to the band hurray!

There is a note on the video in youtube. It said:

“As the Royal Pirates mentioned earlier today on Facebook and Twitter, we wanted to share a small piece of what RP has been up to lately. After almost 7 months since their last public performance, we all have been working passionately in Korea for RP’s next step. Hope you guys enjoy this raw cover RP recently recorded for you all~ More exciting updates to come!”

Does this mean they will be debuting in Korea?? Omo! I can’t wait. There is always room for rock/alternative bands in Korea. I think rock is becoming more of a mainstream now in the Hallyu scene! Another hurray!!! I think it’s about time!

I can’t wait for them to debut! Good luck to you guys!!

Best Friend (Chinese Version) – Jason Chen

I haven’t written in a long time! Studying makes you busy… and also I have been shying away from a lot of the Kpop songs (there are just too many new songs!). Well I still listen to them once in a while but I just had the itch of listening to other Asian songs.

One such song is one I am posting. It’s called Best Friend by Jason Chen.

Jason Chen is quite popular because of his covers. He sings not only English covers but as well as Chinese songs. This song, is originally done in English but it also has a Chinese version. If you ask me, I like the Chinese version better than the English one. I think the Chinese lyrics fit more into the song. This song also reminds me of the good old Mandopop I was so crazy about 3-4 years ago. It sounded very very pleasant to my ears.

I used to be a huge fan of Mandopop in the beginning and I kind of miss the Mandopop songs. But then I got caught up with the Kpop scene and I forgot about Chinese songs. Jason Chen’s Best Friend made me want to listen to Mandarin songs again! I just love it and currently a favorite of mine.

And here are the lyrics in Chinese Characters and in Pinyin:

還記得我說過,我永遠不會走遠
Hai ji de wo shuo guo, wo yong yuan bu hui zou yuan,

Jiu zai shi san nian qian, yi tian

Na huo hua jiu zai wo men yan qian, que shi er bu jian

Jiu cha na me yi dian

Zhong yu fa xian ni jiu shi wo sheng ming

Dui ni de gan jue, cong lai dou

Bu ceng gai bian, na huo hua yi jing man yan

Na qing se de gan jue

Gan tan zhe wo de tian, duo me qi miao de gan jue

Xiang shi xiang xie li de hua mian

Ni xiao zhe shuo it’s alright, dan lei shui mian qiang yan gai

Ni ai guo de na xie nan hai

Wo nu li bu rang ni cha jue

Wo dui ni de ai cause

Ni yi you ta pei ban

Wo wei yi de ai, cong lai mei

You shui neng dai ti, huo hua yi shao cheng huo hai

Chu le ni wo shui dou bu ai

Qi dao zhe mei yi tian, wo neng pei zai ni shen bian

Tian mi ju qing wo lai dao yan

Ni zhen de shi wo de yi qie

Xi wang ni neng jie shou, wo zui ai de bao bei

Quan bu de ai dou gei ni

Mei you ren neng xiang wo, wo bu yao qiu shen me

Zhi yao ni zai wo shen bian

Hao hai pa shi qu wo men, gong tong gan jue

Na pa hai shi peng you de jie xian

Wo wu shi wu ke de qi dai

Pan wang, mou tian

Ni ai shang wo zhe ge best friend

By My Side – David Choi

OMG I just realized how long it was since I last checked youtube for videos. And to my surprise Wong Fu Productions are back with WFW (Wong Fu Weekends) and David Choi has a new music video!!!

David Choi (www.davidchoimusic.com) is one of my favorite youtube personalities! I love love his voice and his songs! For those who don’t know him, he is a Korean American (notice the last name) who was discovered on yt because of his talent. He usually does collaborations with Wong Fu (Phil, Wes and Ted) and Kevjumba.

He released a new video last July 7, and because I haven’t checked youtube so much I just found out now, so this is somewhat a delay post. The song is called By My Side.

I love the way his voice fits the melody of the song. It’s very romantic (sorry for sounding so cheesy). The video’s concepts is great to as always! I just love watching his music videos because there is always something new. This time, the story is about a girl who is being serenaded by a boy. To capture her heart, he sends her white balloons. Then she gives him the key and let’s him in. I mean its a usual love story but I love that fact that all this is shot in a warehouse with a scaffolding compared to doing in in a castle or in a nice house. I love how they just used very simple concepts but as a whole turned it to a video that was great to see and was very pleasing to the eye. Everything is in white so i guess it could be interpreted as pure love. Sounds cheesy but to a hopeless romantic like me, I love it! The video was of course directed by Wong Fu Productions.

To find out more about the making of the video, check this:

David Choi actually came to Manila, I wish I could have been there but I was on vacation. And when he was supposed to go to Singapore, I did not catch him there because the day of my arrival was the day he flew to Manila, sigh.. oh well some day soon! I really want to see him perform.

Suju’s Eunhyuk, Shindong and Kangin watch the dancing inmates

I had sometime to post things! yipee!

And I really really really needed tomake this post!

I was checking allkpop.com for any updates and lo and behold I found one update about the group I’m really missing – actually it’s 2 updates… I will be posting the other one after this entry. Anyway I cannot not post this because I saw this performance of the Cebu Dancing inmates.. and that was the first time that they performed that dance.

I’m talking about the performance of the dancing inmates of Super Junior song “Sorry Sorry”. I posted before that I, along with my friends, had the opportunity to watch the live performance and it was a very interesting experience. Anyway, 3 Suju members took some time to watch the performance of the inmates and they were in awe when they watched it.. take a look at the video…

If I am not mistaken, well based on the boy’s costume, they watched it during their recording of their performance with 3 musketeers (they sang Kaja). The boys are really handsome.. kiki and though the steps of the inmates were not exactly the same as the exact Sorry Sorry steps, it’s nice that they appreciated it!

Sorea Group Covers Tell Me Your Wish (SNSD)

I was looking in youtube for covers of Kpop songs. And I found this!

Sorea Group – the popular group that made covers of Kpop songs like Gee and  Sorry Sorry have made another cover of a So Nyeo Shi Dae (SNSD) song – their new song! This groups makes covers by playing the songs using traditional Korean instruments.

As always I am amazed by this group. Their covers sound really nice. In this cover, instead of having a girl sing the verses, a guy is singing them. Though it’s different from the original version – the guy doing the vocals adds another flavor to the song. I don’t know about you but it sound nice to me. Kudos to these guys! Not only are they promoting their culture but their doing a great job entertaining us!

Sorry Sorry Cover by CPDRC Dancing Inmates

I was really waiting for this video! wahaha… and they did not post this until yesterday!

I’m sure you’ve heard about the CPDRC Dancing Inmates from the Philippines. If not.. they are prisoners whose rehabilatation for the bad deeds they did is through dancing. They have become an internet hit when they first performed Thriller. About 3 months ago they performed Nobody by the Wonder Girls – they even had their own version of the girls. They also performed a version a remix version of Lies (Big Bang) a Tell Me (Wonder Girls).

A friend of mine sent me a message last week the next performance of the inmates will be Sorry Sorry. I went all gaga when I knew about this. And without any second thoughts I made a reservation for the performance! Weee! Along with four other friends we watched the performance.

The performance of Sorry Sorry was the last one so we really had to wait. I watch most of their performances on youtube — especially the kpop songs they did covers of. But it was really fun watching the real thing! Their version of the Wonder Girls was so hilarious! They even had their own names! But though all of them were guys (or maybe some of them were guys with hearts of girls…) they dances very well! 😀 Their version of Sorry Sorry was fun to watch! Very fun in deed… When the music started blaring I just can’t help but sing along with it. If I wasn’t sitting down I would probably be dancing! Sorry Sorry is really getting very popular!! Waaah I miss this song!

When you come to the Philippines and you can chance upon a performance of these Inmates, make sure you watch them! It’s sade to watch them and you even had the chance to dance with them. It was sad for us though because we were sitting somewhere far away from the door going to the grounds. But some foreigners did go down and danced with them and I envy! Well maybe I’ll do it next time! But I still had fun! Lots of fun!!!

The Wondergirls had their concert recently in Korea. So because of that I had the sudden urge to put up on my blog 2 covers of the very popular Wondergirls song, Nobody…
