Joo Ji Hoon and Yoon Eun Hye.. Real or Not?

Ok so first off.. I don’t know if it’s real or not! When you go online I’m sure you’d find a lot of conspiracy theories about it..

But I actually made this post because for the past few weeks I have met 2 friends on my blog who I think are the best at this topic and I want to make a post especially for them both so they can share their thoughts!

They have the best resources for this… and their powers are not the same as mine… so I invite both Esigh and Bigungmama to share thoughts on the topic posted above…

And this would be a nice resource for JJH and YEH fans who both want them to end up with each other (me included).

If you think it’s real, please don’t hesitate to drop in a comment and your thoughts about the two of them. Sharing is caring and that is what my blog does!

Esigh and Bigungmama… share more of your thoughts! ^_^

By the way.. rant all you want on my blog! wink wink

Yoon Eun Hye’s Goong Fashion

I was watching Goong the other day. Though I have noticed it a long time ago when I first saw Goong, I am just posting it now. I Super Love the clothes that Yoon Eun Hye wears in the drama.

When looking at her dresses in the drama, you have to remember that this drama was made in the late part of 2005 and was shown in early 2006. So the Hallyu fashion today is very different from the Hallyu fashion at that time. But I love the pieces that she wore especially the hanboks. I think watching this drama was the first time I saw I saw the fusion hanbok style.

I want to do screencaps but I’m too lazy to do them, so instead I will post most of the official pics from the drama as well as pictures I found while lurking in the internet.

So tell me which one is your favorite?

I remember wanting a Korean school uniform because of this drama!

These were the Hanboks she wore

These two were my favorites

Compilations of what she wore (i did not compile it so credits to whoever did it :))

And did last but not least.. I so love these shoes!!!

If you have more pictures to share, please write it in the comments below 🙂 Thank you!

Perhaps Love – J and Howl (Live)

The first Korean song I really like was Sarangingayo (사랑인가요) or Perhaps Love from the OST of the Kdrama Goong (Princess Hours). I saw the drama on TV in 2006/2007 and I loved this song ever since. I even loved this song way before I got into my Kpop phase.

This was the first Korean song I learned to sing, and the first one I memorize. Every time my friends and I went to a noraebang, the one with Korean and Japanese songs, I would always sing it! I still love to sing this song until now and it still brings back that giddy feeling I had while watching Goong! (heck, there are times I still watch Goong!)

Though there have been a lot of covers done for this song, nothing beats the original singers singing it! kk And I found a clip where they performed it together on another Korean cable TV show! I loved it so much that I want to share it!

I so love this song! It makes me want to sing along! kk

If you ask me what’s my favorite Kpop song ever — it would have to be this one! What’s your favorite Kpop song?

Goong Pic Spam

I know I know this drama was shown ages ago… but I still love it and it has to be my all time favorite.

A student of mine spoke nonstop of this drama the whole day! kk Actually she was watching the drama for the nth time but she says she always gets giddy with Goong (Princess Hours).

So I had nothing to do and I looked through my old files for my Goong pictures… and I decided to do some pic spamming.. kk…

Fell in Love with the characters in the drama…

The Crown Prince….

The Crown Princess (Yoon Eun Hye is very cute here!)…

The Original Crown Prince (who was recently discharged from the army! ooh can’t wait for his next project!!)….

The Other girl.. the Ballet Dancer (I used to hate Song Ji Hyo but I so love her now! Long Live the Monday Couple!!! kk)

Some liked the Shin and Chaekyung Couple

While others prefer Chaegyung to be with Yul

But in the end… Chaegyung chose Shin…

And got married… oh what a lovely couple!

Some other pics… I wanted this stuffed toy?? stuffed whatever… kk

And this is probably the most romantic scene in the drama for me!!!

And who could ever forget the lovable teddy bears!!!

I could watch this drama over and over and over again!!!

Kim Jeong Hoon enlists for the Army

So Goong is my most loved kdrama. It took sometime for me to watch another drama after I finished it.

If you watched the drama I believe you would remember the guy who played Yul (the original prince). That actor is Kim Jeong Hoon. He was a former member of the duo group UN. He also starred in the drama Witch Yoo Hee (Witch Amusement).

I read awhile back that he was entering the army sometime this month. I almost forgot that it was today.. until I read the news on Kbites. According to kbites, Kim Jeong Hoon gets enlisted for his military service on the 28th in front of 800 fans at replacement unit in GyeongGiDo.

I’m posting some photos of him… he looks a little differents probably because of the hair. I’m used to seeing him with the hairstyle he had in Goong.

We will be seeing him again in 2 years.. sigh.. ^^

MBC and Crunchyroll’s strategic partnership

Because I was a little busy, this blog has not been updated… until today that is 😀

I was snooping around the internet and browsing through asian websites when I read a news that made my day — but later made me a little sad.

K-popped has posted on their website that MBC is partnering with crunchyroll!!! This news made my day..

MBC is one of the biggest Korean TV networks where famous Kdramas are shown. MBC or Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation is the TV station that broadcasted popular dramas like Coffee Prince, My Name is Kim Sam Soon, Jumong and my favorite Goong (Princess Hours).

coffee-princeprincess-hours

According to the article, in the pipelines are more than 30 complete MBC Korean drama series. The first drama is scheduled to begin streaming in the week of March 16, 2009. — When I checked Coffee Prince was up already…

As I was so excited about the news I immediately logged in to crunchy… hoping that the videos will also be available in my region! But alas, as I clicked the videos.. the dreaded: “Sorry this video is not available in your region” appeared. Ugggh… this news made my day but made me frustrated at the same time..

To clarify this news, apparently according to shinji, “All shows are English subtitled and available to everyone in the US (including its terrorities), Canada, and Mexico, in LQ, HQ, and H264 qualities. (Sorry, we’re working on getting it for other regions — this regional restriction stuff sucks, I know :()”

I hope they do something about the regional stuff so we can watch too! 😀

Recommended Drama – Goong / Princess Hours

One of the korean dramas that I am (or was) crazy about was Goong (a.k.a Princess Hours in some areas known as The Palace). It was shown in the Philippines about 2 years ago. Of course this drama (like all other Asian dramas shown on TV) was dubbed in Filipino. I clearly remembered wanting to go home early from work to catch up on the next episode (it was shown on daily, 30 minutes on primetime with commercial breaks in the local television network). And everytime I missed an episode, I would log on to crunchyroll to watch the episodes that I missed (at that time it was still available on the site).

Goong

The story of the drama is based on the mahwa by Park So Hee.

Synopsis:

Goong is a story about young love in face of tradition, politics, and intrigue. In the imaginary world, modern-day Korea is a constitutional monarchy and the Royal Family lives in a grand Palace, the Goong. Story opens with the sudden death of the reigning the King. Faced with the decreasing popularity among the public for the Royalty, a grand wedding for the Crown Prince, Lee Shin (Joo Ji Hoon), is decided to be the best publicity move to improve the image of the Royalty and at the same time prepare Shin for immediate succession. The intended bride? The headstrong, awkward, and sweet spirited Shin Chae-kyung (Yoon Eun Hye) that just happens to go to the same exclusive art school. Chae-kyung was betrothed to become the next Crown Princess by her grandfather and Shin’s grandfather.

After 14 years of living in England with his mom, Lee Yul (Kim Jeong Hoon) appears all of a sudden. He is Shin’s cousin as well as the former Crown Prince. Everything seemed to be going normally until Chae-kyung’s optimistic spirit wins the heart of internally lonely, Yul. As the Crown Prince Shin and simple-minded Chae-kyung’s relationship appear to developing deeper feelings, a series of scandals are exposed to the public right after the pair were officially announced married. Will love prevail all in a world of political pressures and martial hardships? Or will being in the spotlight of the public be too much for the young newlyweds to endure? (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Goong)

The drama starred Yoon Eun Hye (Coffee Prince, Vineyard Man) as the princess, Shin Chae-kyung and Joo Ji Hoon (The Devil, Antique Bakery) the crown prince Lee Shin. This was the first drama for both of them. This drama also starred  Kim Jeong Hoon (Witch Yoo Hee, and formerly from the group UN) who played the crown prince’s cousin and rival Lee Yul and Song Ji Hyoo (Sex is Zero 2) who played the ballerina and Shin’s ex-girlfriend Min Hyo-rin.

The reason why I liked this drama is because of its light hearted story. The story is fictional as kings and queens are no longer ruling Korea. It had the right amount of drama and the right amount of “kilig” moments. Also I loved the soundtrack of this drama as their songs really fit the story (though I had to google the meaning of the song :D). The song Perhaps Love, is probably my favorite Korean song — i love the melody and its lyrics. I also liked the way they ended the episodes, teddy bears depicting the scenes of the episodes. Seeing those teddy bears makes me want to go to the teddy bear museum which (surprise surprise) is in Korea. Until now, I am still watching the my goong videos and I never get bored of them

It is a little difficult to find streaming videos of Goong online as this drama is a licensed one. So you could either buy the original DVD (which is sold online) or you may go to this site.

Since I have uploaded the song Perhaps Love, I will be uploading all the others later..

This drama is a must see, especially if you’re a beginner with the Asian addiction.

perhaps love – goong ost

Goong is one of the best dramas i’ve seen. It was a romantic comedy which tells the story of a simple girl who marries into royalty.

I loved the soundtrack of this drama — one of the reasons why I got hooked on this drama. I especially loved the song called Perhaps Love (Sarangingayo) by J and Howl — so I wanted to share the song.

If you want to sing along here’s the lyrics:

Perhaps Love / Sarangingayo – J & Howl
