Kyuhyun and Jungmo (Trax) at Immortal Song 2

I was talking to my friends the other night. We were watching some videos (particulary Suju’s Why I Like You performance — and it was played again and again 
–). Suddenly another friend asked me how about the rock scene in Kpop? Do they have any?
My friends know I am an avid rock fan — been a rock fan since I was in grade school. So they were kind of curious if the kind of rock songs that I love also existed in the Kpop world. My answer to them was this.. yes there are bands but their bands are all flower boys. Most of the kind of rock songs I like are indie groups. Truth be told, the kind of rock songs I like are the loud ones, like the ones you will hear from Jpop rock groups.
The closest I can get to my kind of rock music is Trax. So when I saw this video I was happy that some people do like rock in Korea.
This is the video of Kyuhyun‘s performance on Immortal Song 2 with Jungmo from Trax as his special guest. He singing a song called Masquerade.
It was stunning to hear and see this performance. Jungmo is a real good guitar player! Really REALLY good (not to mention good looking… see flower boys!). And I didn’t know Kyuhyun’s voice would be good for a rock song, but I think he nailed this performance. I think it has to do something with the shout. If I didn’t know him, I think I could never tell that he is part of a boyband. The make up though — I really don’t understand why they correlate rock with eyeliners. If it was a goth / emo rock band, yes. But have you ever seen Oasis wear eyeliners.. nuh-uh! And rock bands don’t dress that way, they dress comfortably. Maybe it’s their concept of being in a rock band.
But I was glad with this performance especially because its a show where most of the contestants are or were from idol groups (except Huh Gak but I’m still rooting for him! oops.. and Kyuhyun too!) It was something refreshing from the usual cutesy kind of music.

SM the Ballad has released another video of their song!
I actually like this song better, the melody that is. Was actually anticipating the video. ^_^ But I like the video of the first song, I Miss You.
Looking forward to more of their music.

The MV of the song Miss You (너무그리워) of SM Entertainment’s new project group, SM the Ballad has been released!!
So who are SM the ballad?
Composed of 4 members, Kyuhyun of Super Junior, Jonghyun of Shinee, Jay of Trax and Jino, a new SM artist. Kyuhyun, Jonghyun and Jay are known for their voices and some have already made their mark through participating in OSTs and musicals. The group has already made their first live debut in yesterday’s Ingkigayo.
The song and the video
The song Miss you is really good. And of course their voices are really good and I have to say I am pretty amazed by Jino’s voice. Well, we’ve heard the other 3 perform before and their really known for their powerful voices so I was kind of scared for Jino. But he can sing and his voice maybe compared to the other 3 members.
The video on the other hand features the very beautiful Lee Yeon Hee. She is seen as an angel who crashed into the earth. She is met by our hero who takes her in to his room and heals her. And of course like other stories in MVs they like each other, but alas there are 2 men who have come to take her. And it all ends with the guy having a bad headache and then realizes that it wasn’t a dream. Well the story is a bit typical and predictable but the boys’ voices are worth to melt your heart. ^_^
But I’m kinda excited about this project group! It’s about time SM Entertainment has a good ballad group. This proves that idols could do ballads! ^_^

Oh! My Goddess – Trax

I have always been a fan of rock my music. Because of that I am really ecstatic about when I heard this song… it’s not only my kind of rock song but is also a Korean song!
What I am talking about is the new track from Trax It’s called Oh! My Goddess. Trax is SM Entertainment’s rock band. And their new video features Seohyun as the Goddess (pretty kid!)
Though the song has received some good and bad reviews, to me it sounds good. It does sound different from the usual Korean rock songs. It has a western sound to it though.
